To Tyson, the tattoo symbolizes his ability to overcome obstacles and evolve as a person. It is a reminder that even in the darkest moments of his life, there is always the possibility of transformation and growth.
Many people associate Tyson with this particular tattoo. The image is a battle pattern of the New Zealand Maori warriors who wanted to scare their opponents in battle. It consists of two parts, remotely resembling bone daggers, and means strength and aggression.
Meaning: On Mike’s left forearm, there is a tattoo of his ex-wife, Monica Turner, whom he married on April 19, 1997. However, the couple got legally separated on January 14, 2003. Monica had filed for divorce from Mike in January 2002, claiming that Mike had committed adultery during their five-year marriage.
After the 2008 Olympics, Dino Duva built relationships with the National Boxing and Taekwondo Center of the Department of Sports of China and obtained exclusive rights to market all Chinese boxers. As a result, Chinese boxers had little freedom to choose an alternative promoter. On March 10, 2014, the 31-year-old Zhang signed a four-year contract with Dynasty Boxing, a company 50% owned by Duva. Zhang was Dynasty’s first signing and Zhang had only one fight under Dynasty Boxing. Dynasty went bankrupt and closed down in December 2014.
When Tyson got the face tattoo, he agreed in writing that all drawings, artwork, and photographs of it belonged to Whitmill’s Paradox-Studio of Dermagraphics, an uncommon step in the tattoo industry. In The Hangover’s 2011 sequel, The Hangover Part II, the character Stu Price (played by Ed Helms) gets a face tattoo almost identical to Tyson’s. After seeing a poster depicting the tattooed Stu, Whitmill registered a copyright for the tattoo and then on April 28, 2011 filed Whitmill v. Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc., seeking to enjoin The Hangover’s distributor, Warner Bros., from using the tattoo in the movie or its promotional materials. Describing the face tattoo as “one of the most distinctive tattoos in the nation”, Whitmill did not challenge “Tyson’s right to use or control his identity” but challenged Warner Bros.’ use of the design itself, without having asked his permission or given him credit.
Zhang, a southpaw like Usyk, started better and capitalized on Joyce’s static head movement by landing a right hook in the first round. In the second round Joyce was left staggering from a left hand from Zhang and then again later in the round from another left hand and right hook.
China’s Zhang, 41, connected with a perfectly timed counter right hook that spun Wilder in a daze. With Wilder defenseless, Zhang (27-2-1, 21 KOs) sprinted in and smashed him with another right hand that planted the American hard on the canvas.
Strange though it feels to say this about a fight between one-punch knockout artists with limited output, I feel like cardio will be the deciding factor site here. Wilder notoriously carries his power late, and while his pace isn’t one to wear out your average opponent, the same could be said of Joseph Parker’s and Zhang still gassed despite throwing less than 25 punches per round. I don’t see him fixing that problem anytime soon. Each of those punches is sufficient to knock a man to kingdom come, of course, but Wilder is notoriously difficult to get rid of. I still remember him shrugging off an absolute barrage from Luis Ortiz before putting him down.

“Listen, the other day, I was thinking about just getting a tattoo. I’m in such good physical condition. I was just thinking about getting my whole body inked up,” Tyson said during an interview earlier in the year.
Months earlier, in July 1991, Washington and Tyson had crossed paths at a rehearsal for the Miss Black America pageant in Indianapolis, Indiana, where Washington was a contestant. The 18-year-old went to Tyson’s room with him, where she says he raped her.
During the design process, Tyson and Whitmill collaborated with each other, with Tyson making suggestions on the imagery and symbolism he wanted to incorporate into the design. After several iterations, they settled on the final design, which has since become iconic.
“September was the second time I proved that the first time was not a fluke. I always feel like people have a misunderstanding about me because they don’t get to see me. On March 8 I also have something new to show everybody. Every fight I’m bringing something new to the table.”
